Hard work, attention to detail, a creative flair. The designers at HRC are known for all the above—and AIA (American Institute of Architects) Georgia recently recognized the team for it. The firm was the recipient of a 2022 State Design Award—the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Georgia Citation Design Award for civil engineering and landscape architecture work done on the Douglas County High School Sports Complex. HRC collaborated with Nicole Hilton, A.I.A., founding principal and design architect at Cole Hil on the project.
“This project was a labor of love and stretched across the pandemic with its share of challenges,” said Darryl Ray, R.L.A. and HRC VP. “We stayed accountable to the original vision, and we all came together, faced the challenges head on and trusted each other to get the project done with integrity. The jury recognized our collaboration and the impact the project is making on the community at large and felt it important to recognize our team’s effort.”
